For my part, I thought it fitting that the first post of my new blog should be about beginnings (puppies) as well as ends (the certain death of my dog and myself). After all, the value of the truly idle speculation is not just that it’s useless but that it’s grand. What’s more useless than protesting against death? And what’s more grand than the view that comprehends the end in the beginning?
That said, my wife’s response on reading my inaugural post was, roughly, “Well, you’re sure off to a cheerful start.” My brother-in-law helpfully suggested a follow-up post: “Hey Virginia! Guess what? There’s no Santa Claus.” Alright. Alright.
Here’s the funniest bit of comedy I’ve come across in a long while. Enjoy.
